Environmental Actions at ROS

"Inspired by the City of Calgary’s new Commercial Recycling Bylaw the Grade 1 students would like to invite the whole school to participate in “Litter-less Lunch Days” at Royal Oak! Every Wednesday, we would like to ask that the students’ lunch come only in reusable containers and/or bags. Our Litter-less Lunch Days will begin this Wednesday, March 8th. Thank you for supporting our initiative!"

How can we reduce our litter in our lunches:

Peter - put our garbage back in our lunch kits
Sophia M - reuse plastic bags
Maycie - try not to use plastic bags - put things in a container
Charlotte - try not bring garbage (put chips/crackers into a plastic container)
Sophia G. - ask mom not to pack so many bags (or dad, or grandma, or whoever packs your lunch)
Alana - put yogurt into a container
Jackson - rinse out plastic cups and reuse them
Sean - put drinks in a water bottle (or reuse plastic bottles like Sophie did)
Dimitri - use a thermos or big container
